My first meal in Italy: bucatini alla amatriciana and puntarelle salad. The waiter was patient with my jetlagged and mispronouncing presence, and was even nice enough to box up the remainder of the large portion (to feed to my mother when she arrived later after a 24 hour delay). Of the two, I preferred the pasta: its slices of 'bacon' were more like hunks of pork belly, and the sauce clung to every chunk of the hollow-middled pasta. The puntarelle's anchovy-based sauce was incredible, but the vegetable itself, while tasty, was really tough and I had to keep furtively spitting chunks into my napkin because I couldn't chew them enough to be able to swallow them.

CAme early on a Monday and they shooed us out without even talking to us. Said no room though there were many tables open. Don't need the rudeness.

The best food and wine we had while in Rome. A little hard to find. Almost looks like ur entering someone's basement. Soooo good!

Amazing food and great customer service. I felt welcomed. It really was an awesome experience dining here and being treated like family. I will come back before I leave. I had the oxtail pasta (soooo good but only 1 oxtail in it ). My friend had some amazing gnocchi, and the other the spagetti of the day with pig cheeks and it was amazing. We all loved it.

We were treated very well, despite our very poor grasp of Italian. Our waitress spoke some English, made good recommendations. The house Flambe spaghetti with Parmigiana smelled so good. Bring your appetite because the portions are generous!
